After the flood, you helped provide: Food, Shelter Beds and Counselling

Flood Series: After the flood, heroes emerged [Infographic]

To mark the one year anniversary of the worst flooding in Southern Alberta’s history, we’re sharing a series of stories on the work that immediately followed. We saw community superheroes emerge, working together to ensure all citizens were safe, cared for and receiving the help they needed.

Here are just a few of the ways your support of United Way helped our community after the flood.

After the Flood infographic: You helped provide food, shelter beds and counselling; $1.4M to agencies in Calgary, High River and Okotoks; 100% of agency requests for help were funded and were typically funded within 72 hours. You also gave your time: 1,300+ volunteers gave their time with their company through a United Way Day of Caring; volunteers cleared houses, sorted and distributed emergency supplies and built hampers. Thank you YYC!
