Last week, I sat down with Bob Lubkiwski, who was loaned to United Way by ATCO Gas to work as a Campaign Associate.
Not only has this been a great work experience, he says it has opened his eyes.
“I’m more educated now than I’ve ever been,” Bob says. “I have given to United Way in the past through work, but I really wasn’t sure where my dollars were going.”
What he kept saying was how he wanted to do more for his community. Though he now feels strongly about how his donation is invested at United Way, he also says his experience as a Campaign Associate has changed him and how he will continue to be part of his community.
“I’ve always had an excuse not to help out,” he says. “Being here at United Way for this period of time has seriously changed my thinking in regards to that. I see that every little bit helps. If it’s a monetary donation or spending a few hours at the Drop In Centre, it all helps out.”
Bob wants to do more for his community. How will you help your community this holiday season?
