The recent floods in southern Alberta had a devastating effect on the neighbourhood of Bowness. While other areas of the city took some time to create an organized action plan, Bowness organizers were quick to connect, plan and take action.
United Way’s Neighbourhood Strategy team has been working with residents in Bowness for over 6 years. The Neighbourhood Strategy works to bring people, organizations and businesses together to create lasting change at the most local level. The results of the strategy have been seen in Bowness in its recent flood relief efforts.
Check out this video featuring Neighbourhood Strategy‘s Susan Ramsundarsingh, at the Bowness Community Centre, explaining what helped make Bowness flood relief so strong.
